Rangeela

Rangeela, which means “Colourful”, is a multi-coloured macrame bracelet that is resembles the playfulness and vibrancy of Holi. The bracelet features a sacred Rudraksha bead which symbolizes purity and concentration and bestows upon the wearer divine protection, as well as increased abundance and prosperity. The bracelet also includes Evil Eye beads which protect the wearer from bad energy, ill-intent, negativity, and jealousy.

About Holi: Holi, is an ancient Hindu festival, popularly known as the festival of colours, or the festival of spring. It celebrates the arrival of Spring in India. After the cold winter, the arrival of spring brings abundant colours, the blossoming of love, and allows people to meet, play, laugh, forgive, forget, and repair broken relationships.

Holi is celebrated in the middle of March with playful, colourful festivities where people smear each other with colourful powders and drench each other with water, everyone is fair game, regardless of status, age, or relation. This signifies the ultimate purpose of Holi, which is to bring people together as one, allowing them to feel part of a community of friends, family, and neighbours. The spraying of water signifies the cleansing of one’s aura and energy, to rid oneself of emotional impurities from past errors, egos, and conflicts.

Fun Fact: Traditionally the Holi colours were made using natural pigments from colourful plants, flowers, and herbs with medicinal properties based on Ayurveda practices. This included neem, Kumkum, haldi and bilva. The significance of this was to prevent viral fevers and colds brought on by the change in weather from winter to spring.
